Nina McLemore has opened her first Houston store, at 1965 West Gray in River Oaks Shopping Center. Expect well-tailored, power dressing for women. After all, McLemore’s clients include Hillary Clinton, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and former New Jersey governor Christine Todd. The store, her 15th, celebrates its arrival on Wednesday, December 2, with an opening party from 4 to 7 pm.
Houston’s newest event venue, Citadel on Kirby, is now open at 12130 Kirby Dr. The 20,000-square-foot space rests on a six-acre estate and boasts design features like 26-foot ceilings, a 24-foot-tall indoor waterfall and handmade wooden doors. In addition to the custom designs, the Citadel boasts an elegant ballroom complete with stunning chandeliers, state-of-the-art audio/video equipment and a fully loaded outdoor event space — making it the perfect setting for hosting distinguished weddings, corporate events, and grand galas. Joining Cartier, Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford and more, St. Tropez-born label Vilebrequin opens its first Houston store this fall in River Oaks District at 4444 Westheimer Road. The 600-square-foot boutique embodies the Mediterranean theme, with a summer-driven palette and a full scope of signature men’s, children’s and women’s swimsuits and casual resort togs.
Luxury fitness and lifestyle club Equinox opens its first Houston location on Thursday, December 3. The 33,000-square-foot gym marks yet another addition to River Oaks District. Club members can expect five fitness studios designated for cycling, regular and hot yoga, Pilates, Equinox’s new barre program and group fitness classes led by Equinox’s fitness and nutrition instructors. Guests (members and nonmembers) can also take advantage of The Spa at Equinox, which features a full spa menu of services including facials and the E Quissage, a signature massage service custom-tailored to your body. A grand new Tenenbaum & Co. store is on the horizon. After 10 years at its current location — 1801 Post Oak Boulevard — the jeweler is building a stunning new store at 4310 Westheimer Road, next to River Oaks District. At more than 6,000 square feet in size, the two-level store will be double the size of the Post Oak Boulevard location. Look for a summer 2016 opening.
Known for its eco-conscious philosophy, accessory and lifestyle brand Alex and Ani opens its first two Texas locations later this month at The Woodlands Market (9595 Six Pines Dr.) and the newly renovated Baybrook Mall (500 Baybrook Mall). The stores will make their debut just in time for the holiday season and feature the full gamut of Alex and Ani’s jewelry and accessories collection as well as Holiday 2015 selections.
