Dallas Fashion’s Hottest Names Enjoy the Ultimate Cool Girl Party
By Lisa Collins Shaddock //
What: Lunch for [hotter-than-hot] Monse designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia
Where: Mirador at Forty Five Ten
PC Moment: When Tina Craig unzipped Rickie De Sole‘s polka dotted Monse top, crying that she needed the W Magazine editor’s ensemble for her impending trip to Hong Kong. While we don’t blame her for wanting to recreate De Sole’s perfectly undone, cool-girl look (a side effect of wearing anything Monse), there was plenty to go around.
As the party noshed on escarole Caesar salad and Scottish salmon, models showcased an assortment of looks, including a brightly striped blanket coat, a draped yellow velvet gown, and a perfectly deconstructed plaid top. Since showing their debut collection in September of 2015, designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia have quickly become the reigning Queen and King of fashion’s fresh new guard (they rule the old guard, too, with their other day job as co-creative directors for Oscar de la Renta).
It’s no wonder Forty Five Ten’s VP creative and fashion director Taylor Tomasi Hill calls their pieces a staple in her wardrobe.
Who: Nancy Rogers, Sue Gragg, Heidi Dillon, Lisa Runyon, Kim Raynor, Lisa Shaddock, Reed Robertson, Renee Prince Fillip, Lisa Moore, Taylor Tomasi Hill, Tina Craig, Rickie De Sole.
