New Beauty Clinic Brings Non-Invasive Treatments to Rice Village — SkinSpirit Keeps Things Fresh

Staying on the Cutting Edge by Embracing New Technologies

After the successful opening of skincare and body treatment clinics in Austin and Plano, SkinSpirit has arrived in Houston, bringing with it 18 years of experience in the world of medical aesthetics. Founded in Palo Alto, California, in 2003, the med spa company boasts 19 locations spread across California, New York, Seattle and now in Houston’s Rice Village.

SkinSpirit CEO Lynn Heublein was on-site at the new Rice Village clinic and spoke with PaperCity on the clinic’s first foray into Houston.

It’s a great market,” Heublein says. “It’s a very similar demographic to our other markets — smart, professional women who are looking for proven treatments and natural-looking results. What we find is that is something that is wanted across the country and we saw the Texas market as being, we think, underserved.”

After selling her software company, Heublein — a Stanford MBA graduate and Silicon Valley entrepreneur — was pitched on the future of aesthetics by Dr. M Dean Vistnes and Cara Fonteyne, RN from whom Heublein was receiving services.  Their vision of the field was and remains one in which non-invasive services are king.

“We were a pioneer in this category. We were one of the very first companies that focused on this med spa concept,” Heublein says.

A focus on the culture and a deep understanding of the cutting edge space that the firm occupies has helped SkinSpirit to recruit skilled technicians. As a large buyer of Botox, SkinSpirit techs have access to world renowned trainers with approximately one-third of the staff being trainers themselves.

“That’s the way we stay ahead and we make it the best place to work so those people want to stay and they teach each other,” Heublein says. “There’s a lot of collaboration.”

SkinSpirit offers a number of treatments that can be combined based on an individual’s needs. There is an artistry behind the science and the specialized practitioners work to get the best possible results according to the needs of each client.

“There are products that are going to come onto the market in the next five to 10 years that are going to continue to evolve how much we can do and how much rejuvenation we can do,” Heublein notes.

Some exciting changes in the field to look forward to include new technologies for cellulite, new filler technologies that are more pliable and natural, and more energy-based therapies that help rejuvenate stimulate collagen.

“The amount of technology that’s going to come to market is going to be tremendous and so young women and older women can look forward to even more control over their aging process in the future, ” Heublein says.

SkinSpirit strives to continue to be a pioneer in the field in part “by evaluating those technologies early and making sure what’s good what’s not,” according to Heublein.

“There’s nothing that we do at SkinSpirit that we haven’t tested on ourselves thoroughly and that we feel ‘Yes, this is going to provide a result that you can see and that you can be happy with.’ “
