Following the opening of its Plano flagship in May, Detroit-based Shinola, purveyor of Americana–style watches and accessories, has unveiled a second Texas boutique — this one in Highland Park Village — just in time for Christmas (get more details on the glossy store in PaperCity‘s upcoming January issue). We tapped the brand’s creative director, Daniel Caudill, who shared his top picks for this season’s most distinctive gifts.
Muhammad Ali watch: “We launched a limited-edition watch in November with The Muhammad Ali Center. It’s a cushion-shaped case on brown alligator strap and red backing and comes in either 36mm or 41mm. I wear the smaller size, and it still looks great on a man’s wrist.”
Monogrammed journal: “I always have one of our journals on hand. They’re great for jotting down notes when I’m traveling or in a meeting. I give a ton as gifts, too, because we offer free monogramming, so it makes it extra personal.”
Sweatshirt: “The Shinola screen-print logo sweatshirt is one of my everyday wardrobe essentials. It’s so comfortable and has a great fit.”
Strap replacement: “The strap replacement program is an easy way to switch up your watch. There are different sizes, materials and colors to choose from. I actually alternate my watch strap every day.”
