Houston’s European Furnishings Mecca Brings Top Architects, Homeowners and Design Devotees Together
CASA Becomes a Hub for American Institute of Architects
By Shelby Hodge //
What: American Institute of Architects Home Tour sponsor party
Where: CASA
PC Moment: Over the course of two hours, a hardy crowd of AIA featured architects, AIA members, homeowners, sponsors and docents perused the cache of contemporary furnishings and interior design installations that spotlight the luxury European furnishings for which the store is known.
For entertainment beyond schmoozing and lusting after the fab furnishings, guests were entertained by the sounds of violinist J.D. Karpicke, who was accompanied by a Steinway Spirio, promoted as the world’s highest resolution player piano.
AIA Houston executive director Rusty Bienvenue welcomed the design-oriented throng as did home tour chairman Bob Robinowitz, AIA (McIntyre + Robinowitz).
ElevEats Graze & Charcuterie provided party plates while St.-Germain Elderflower Liqueur and Ladybird’s delivered on the liquid sustenance.
PC Seen: Docents Leon Yawitz, Marian Montes de Oca, Alexis and Raquel Franco, and Katie LaRose; Claudia and Kevin Orellana; Elizabeth Newkirk; Christa Andrepont; Kendra Benson; Shawn Gottschalk; Andrea Villamarin; Micky Nguyen; and the CASA Houston team Marc Arce, Franny Walker, and Mackenzie Cash.
