These Exotic Handcrafted $2,000 Pillows Take 150 Hours to Make
By Rebecca Sherman //
Exotic birds, flowers and butterflies populate the romantic world of Elizabeth Phillips Designs’ one-of-a-kind pillows, landing just in time for summer at Grange Hall.
Hand-beaded and signed on the back with a metal tag, Phillips’s intricate cushions are inspired by her early years as a model in Paris, where she was introduced to haute couture craftsmanship and design.
Each pillow takes about 150 hours to create and is made from such exquisite materials as vintage Art Deco and Czech glass beads, antique metal ribbons, cashmere, silk and linen. $2,200 to $3,750, at Grange Hall, 4445 Travis St., 214.443.0600.
