B&B Butchers & Restaurant is almost ready to make its grand debut in Cowtown. The classic meat market and steakhouse has been a hit since it opened in Houston two years ago, and now it’s raising the stakes in North Texas. Last week, Carolyn Osborne and Lauren Perkins of Lola + Lina hosted an exclusive first look at B&B Butchers & Restaurant’s new Fort Worth location.
Proprietor Benjamin Berg and managing partner Darren McDonald welcomed more than 200 guests to the gussied-up construction site for a Hard Hat Social with cocktails, steakhouse bites and live music.
Hard hats were not required, but a Texas chic dress code was strictly enforced. Party goers arrived to find two live longhorns out front, saddled up and ready for a Western photo opp.
As they entered the construction site, they found that the unfinished space had been transformed into a welcoming cocktail locale.
On the patio, beloved local musician “Big Mike” played classic rock while guests sipped cocktails and snacked on miniature versions of the steakhouse’s signature dishes. Offerings included Chef Tommy’s Bacon (sizzling thick cut bacon topped with crumbled blue cheese and truffle infused honey), Miniature Crab Cakes, Miniature Beef Wellingtons and Carpet Baggers (filet mignon topped with Cajun-fried oysters, sizzling thick cut bacon, crumbled blue cheese, blue cheese sauce and house-made hot sauce). Butcher shop director Tom Farrell served up a gourmet cheese and charcuterie station, while executive chef Christian Marentes roasted an in-house dry-aged long bone ribeye over the rotisserie.
Guests left the party stuffed and with swag bags full of B&B branded gear – including hard hats.
B&B Butchers & Restaurant at Clearfork will be open for Thanksgiving Day, with a special prix-fixe menu and the complete dinner menu. They’re giving holiday diners something to really be thankful for – a take home bag with leftover turkey sandwiches made in the Butcher Shop that morning with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and a side of gravy.
