New Spanish Hotspot in North Texas Brings Two Restaurants In One
Ready for Tapas, Pizza and Ice Cream?
BY Caroline Hogan // 02.13.18La Zona restaurant concept is now open in Fort Worth.
Casual Fort Worth concept La Zona‘s wooden accents, earthy tones, and geometric details are courtesy Dallas-based design group Coevál Studio (Jalisco Norte, Happiest Hour), which sought inspiration from historic European plazas while fashioning its new restaurant project.
But what’s perhaps most noteworthy about La Zona is it’s two restaurants in one — an ideal place for those with a sweet tooth and a craving for the savory. The smell of pizza wafts from one side; from the other, the aroma of freshly baked churros.
Trust us: You’ll have a hard time deciding between the two, so do yourself a favor and stop by both.
At La Zona’s Hotel Madrid, feast on tapas like Spanish beef meatballs in an almond cream sauce, and fried goat cheese queso served with honey and crackers.
You’ll have to pay several visits to the restaurant to sample all of its pizzas. There’s a honey, Serrano ham, and parmesan creation; tuna, tomato, white wine, spinach, and mushroom; chicken pesto; and more.
Immediately adjacent, Saint Sophia is a dessert lover’s paradise. Pair warm churros — or even a churro ice cream sandwich — with a medley of java beverages, including cappucino, cortado, and cafe con leche.
