Asian-Hispanic Fusion Cafe Brings Sweet Drinks to Dallas’ Medical District — Inside Zero Degrees’ Texas Expansion
Are You Ready to Embrace the Split Cup?
By Megan Ziots //
Zero Degrees, an Asian-Hispanic fusion chain that specializes in drinks and snacks, is set to open at 2515 Inwood Road, Suite 119 this weekend.
Founded in 2013 by siblings Ken Le, Trinity Le and San Huynh, the first Zero Degrees opened in Orange County, California. Since then, it’s expanded across the country with 15 locations in Texas, including Arlington and Frisco. This will be the very first one inside the city of Dallas.
Zero Degrees’ signature drink is the Mangonada smoothie, which is a mango slush with real fruit chunks, topped with chamoy and Tajin seasoning. There’s also the pink lychee smoothie and spicy watermelon smoothie. Other drinks include coffees, teas and the split cup concoction.
A split cup is where you can choose two drinks for one cup. Options to choose from are Strawberry Horchata, Lychee Crush, Cucumber Limemade, Milk Tea, Sea Salt Green Tea, and more. Zero Degrees has tamarind straws to drink out of for a little extra. And of course you can add boba.
Hot snacks on the menu include a range of flavors. There’s classic elotes, chicken wings, popcorn chicken, carne asada fries, and Xxtra Flamin Hot Cheetos cheese fries. There are also box combos where you can choose multiple items.
On top of smoothies, there are milkshakes such as the ube shake topped with marshmallow and a sour belt candy and the Cookie Monster, which is an Oreo shake with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
The grand opening for this sweet treat haven will be on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 from 11 am to 11 pm. If you’re one of the first 25 guests, you’ll get a free 24-ounce drink.
