Who: Chairs Arvia Few and Kristen Berger; honorees and founding board members Amy Anton, Honi and Glen Boudreaux, Phyllis Childress, Kim Tutcher, and Peg Lee; chef of the year winner Robert Del Grande, a founding member of the chef’s advisory board at RFS; Lance Gilliam, who received the fifth annual Mayor’s Award: Champion of Food Justice, recognizing his assistance in helping to launch Hope Farms, an urban agricultural and farmer training site; authors of How to Feed a Family: The Sweet Potato Chronicles Laura Keogh and Ceri Marsh, who jovially demonstrated easy family recipes and their own “golden rules” for cooking; and emcee Rachel McNeill; also at the table were husbands of the chair duo, Jason Few and John Berger, respectively; former Mayor of Houston Bill White; Susan Criner, Gracie and Bob Cavnar, Mary Fay Way, Estela Cockrell, Anita Smith, Brenda Love, Jeff Shell, Susan Sarofim, Valerie Dieterich, and Leisa Holland Nelson.
PC Moment: Recipe for Success drew 400 warriors who raised more than $200,000 for the foundation on its tenth birthday, celebrating a decade of award winning programs and efforts in a continued fight against childhood obesity.
