What: Planet Blue x Bumble happy hour
Where: Planet Blue boutique
PC Moment: With hip DJ Steffi Burns at the turntables, stylish collegiates buzzed about the Planet Blue store in Knox-Henderson, browsing new collections and posing with fun props in a photo booth.
Hosted in partnership with Bumble, the happy hour generated awareness for the Austin-based tech company founded by SMU grad Whitney Wolfe Herd.
As of late, Bumble has commanded conversations of women’s empowerment (especially as Herd just graced the covers of Forbes magazine and Texas Monthly, and also launched a new mani-pedi app with fellow entrepreneur and SMU alum Amber Venz Box).
It started as a dating app where women make the first move, but recently expanded to include career networking with BumbleBizz and BumbleBFF, which lets you search for new gal pals.
Who: Team Planet Blue: Kaley Beery, Judy Weech, Haley De La Garza, Nise Garret, and Ava Lamoureux; Kyle Donavin, Abby Bertram, Sarah Mooney, Ann Nordin, Taylor Neilson, John McCarthy, Riley Blair, Chianna Mirtaheri, Brittany Haynes, Alex Mackillop, Kyla Cakarnis, and Haley Banas.
