What: Shopping event hosted by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in honor of his late mother, Peggy Prescott
Where: David Yurman boutique at NorthPark Center
PC Moment: Fans of football and fine jewelry flocked to Yurman’s store for a meet-and-greet with the designer and Prescott — plus several of the latter’s teammates (offensive guard Zack Martin, defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford, center Travis Frederick, and star running back Ezekiel Elliot).
The evening paid tribute to Peggy Prescott, who passed away in 2013, with 10 percent of proceeds from Yurman purchases going to the Kids 2 Camp philanthropy in her memory. The foundation offers scholarships for disadvantaged and disabled youth to attend sports camps.
“I try to be the person that my mother was,” Dak shared with PaperCity, after circulating the store to chat with clients and friends. “Her being a boss at a truck stop allowed me to watch the way her coworkers and employees and customers treated her, loved her, and respected her so much — I’m blown away.
“I go back to where she worked, I hug someone, and they start crying. It’s because of the impact my mother had on their life.”
Browsing the baubles: David Yurman NorthPark store manager Reggie Rolle, NorthPark Fashion and Lifestyle Ambassador Kimberly Schlegel Whitman and Justin Whitman, recent ex-ESPN sportscaster Ed Werder, Wendy Taylor, Allison Jernigan, Shelby Foster, Maria Valim, Loryn Weddle, Madeline Shibley, Laura DeSmeth, and Rachel Roberts.
