Flowers and festivities will be in bloom this month at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, which hosts its inaugural full-grounds musical event Friday, July 24, at 7:30 pm. Bring your blankets, picnic baskets and dancing shoes for Garden Gigs, where local artists Salim Nourallah, John Lefler and Camille Cortinas, Kaela Sinclair, and Sudie will perform sets throughout the grounds, starting at sundown. “The Dallas Arboretum is the perfect place for music outdoors,” says board chair Bill Graue. We think he might be on to something … With music spanning from intimate acoustic sets to jazzy beats, there’s something for everyone. And the same could be said for the cuisine. Either pack your own picnic feast or head for the food trucks — perhaps a grilled cheese from Ruthie’s Rolling Café or pizza from BellaTrino. Garden Gigs start at 7:30 pm. Can you dig it?
