Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors, Nina Ricci, Oscar de la Renta, and now Zac Posen. One common thread this esteemed list of designers share is that they have all been the featured designer at The Crystal Charity Ball’s Ten Best Dressed Women of Dallas Fashion Show and Luncheon.
The highly anticipated announcement of this year’s honorees was made at an intimate gathering in the Neiman Marcus Couture Salon. Once again, downtown store general manager Jeff Byron revealed the list of VIPs: Anita Arnold, Katherine Coker, Janie Condon, Tucker Enthoven, Pat Harloe, Julie Hawes, Piper Wyatt; and first timers Delilah Boyd, Lisa Colley, and Amy Hegi.
Additionally, the Hall of Fame honoree was revealed: Charlotte Jones Anderson. This is the first time a mother and daughter have been a part of the same venerable list (her mother Gene Jones was the Hall of Fame honoree back in 2012). “I am touched by this recognition. A Hall of Fame distinction is truly special,” shared Anderson.
Another surprise was that The Crystal Charity Ball and Neiman Marcus will be moving the action back inside. The iconic downtown landmark, built back in 1914, is the flagship store for the shopping mecca, making it he perfect place to host such an occasion. The debut of the Best Dressed list was in 1977 at Neiman Marcus’s famous Zodiac Room. In 2014, the festivities were moved next door, taking place under a massive tent and transforming the parking lot into a party space.
This year, for the 43rd annual celebration, the team decided it was time to head inside, back to where it all began. The show will take place on the second floor. Post catwalk, the fashionable ladies will make their way to the fourth floor for a seated luncheon.
Mark your calendars for Friday, September 15, when Zac Posen will join ball chair Pam Perella, fashion show and luncheon chair Christi Urschel, and the rest of the chic coterie for a truly special day. Showcasing looks from Posen’s 2017 resort collection, this runway is guaranteed to rock your stilettos!
