PC Moment: Even inclement weather and a last-minute reschedule couldn’t keep the more than 400 attendees from attending the annual Equest Gala at Texas Horse Park.

The evening’s theme was “Field of Dreams,” and despite the quick shift in plans, dreams still came true. More than $50,000 was raised by way of a bid-happy crowd that couldn’t resist the range of must-have live and silent auction items. Fund-raising fuel was kept in the barn — a perfect spot for a very Texas bourbon-and-biscuits bar and a tequila-and-taco station.

Entertainment for the evening included horse-and-rider demonstrations, music by Ray Johnston, Cary Pierce, Crystal Yates and Jon Christopher Davis, and two-stepping lessons with the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
