What: Growing Friends launch event, “Four Chefs Under Forty”

Where: Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

PC Moment: To celebrate Growing Friends, the Dallas Arboretum’s new membership level for those between 21 and 40 years old, dozens of young foodies flocked to A Tasteful Place — the Arboretum’s 3.5-acre vegetable garden surrounded by pavilions, a lagoon, and a spectacular view of the Dallas skyline.

As the sun set beyond White Rock Lake, guests listed to tunes from the Culdesac Kids band and sampled fare prepared by four stellar chefs under 40. Chino Chinatown‘s chef Uno Immanivong served a poke daikon taco; and chef Daniel Pittman of LUCK at Trinity Groves whipped up a pastrami slider with pickled beets and candied jalapeños.

Anastacia Quinones, chef at Oddfellows, offered farro risotto with braised beef short rib and arugula; and chef Andrea Shackelford of Harvest Seasonal Kitchen served nduja with yogurt and a crispy artichoke chip.

“I am so thankful for the Dallas Arboretum,” said co-host Taylor Collinsworth, “and to be able to be involved with a great organization.”
