What: A Tasteful Place’s Gala Garden Party
Where: Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
PC Moment: Nearly 400 supporters of the arboretum gathered to fête its newest garden, A Tasteful Place — the whopping $12 million, 3.5-acre green space with a sweeping view of White Rock Lake and the Dallas skyline.
Dressed in their “garden gorgeous” best, guests enjoyed signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and tunes from jazz musician Mark Toussaint and his band.
But the main showstopper was co-chair Barbara Bigham’s gown fashioned by Dr. Delphinium Design & Events using the garden’s own vegetables: a layered skirt of Brussels sprouts, carrots, lettuce, artichokes, and kale.
Who: Co-chairs Barbara Bigham and Robin Carreker; honorary co-chairs Diane and Hal Brierley; horticulture expert and A Tasteful Place consultant P. Allen Smith, chef Dean Fearing, Wanda Gierhart, Micki Rawlings, Candace Krause, Bill and Linda Kenney, Gail and Cliff Fischer, Cynthia Perry, Pam Pendleton, and Carol Kelley.
