What: The 26th annual Zoo To Do
Where: The Dallas Zoo
PC Moment: Set loose in the Dallas Zoo after dark, partygoers took a walk on the wild side. Strolling through the Giants of the Savanna exhibit, guests fed giraffes, enjoyed interactive animal demonstrations, and sampled dishes from more than 25 of Dallas’ premier restaurants (including Abacus, Shinsei, and Parigi). As the pack made its way to the Wilds of Africa plaza for part two of the evening’s festivities, even the elephants came out to say hello and extend their thanks for supporting the zoo’s animal care, education, and wildlife conservation efforts.
Before dancing the night away to music from the Emerald City All Stars, guests went bananas with bids during the live auction. With once-in-a-lifetime experiences like cocktails with the gorillas and breakfast with the penguins up for grabs, it’s no wonder a feeding frenzy ensued.
Party Animals: Event chairs Barbara and Don Daseke, honorary chair Mary McDermott Cook, Diane and Hal Brierley, Kate and Lane Britain, Barb and Steve Durham, Cindy and Chuck Gummer, Dan Landsberg, Sarah Barr, Brett Krafft, Pat and Charles McEvoy, Kara and Randall Goss, Joan and Alan Walne, Kathy and Kevin Hanrahan, Rachel and John Michell, Deve and Ron Sanford.
