Party planner extraordinaire Deborah Elias pulled out all the stops to celebrate her 20th anniversary in business with a blowout party at the Hilton Americas-Houston featuring indoor sparkler fireworks, a floral “step and repeat” wall, a Cirque du Soleil-type aerialist in a crescent moon, and a human flower pot with cascading blooms.
Around 200 clients and friends turned out to salute Elias, whose company Elias Events has organized some of Houston’s biggest private parties, wedding receptions, corporate happenings and charity events. The tearful party planner welcomed the crowd and singled out her very first clients, Hanan and Todd Harpster, whose wedding she organized. A passel of proud family members, including parents John and Miriam Elias, and brothers John Elias (with spouse Rebecca), Mark Elias (with spouse Christina), Matthew Elias, Markie Elias (with spouse Leena), and Luke Elias traveled from El Paso to support the lady on her big night.
Guests noshed on an array of delicacies, including a Chinese dim sum bar, a handmade pupusa station and a wide array of desserts, including flavored candy lipsticks and sake cotton candy, provided by the Hilton Americas catering staff; a poutine bar, cedar plank salmon, and verrine foie gras — each individually seared with a blowtorch, prepared by Bailey Connor Catering; and an array of salads, courtesy of Monarch Hospitality.
Attendees also each “signed” a piece of artwork by Hanh Tran by adding an oil paint design in a color of their choosing as a keepsake for Elias, and cut into an oversized cake featuring the Elias Events logo, created by For Heaven’s Cake.
The crowd also oohed and aahed over two six-foot-high white sparklers that erupted for several minutes to mark the occasion, courtesy of GTX Productions. Afterwards, revelers danced into the night to tunes spun by DJ Chris Thomas from Bradley David Entertainment.
Other vendors supporting Elias on her big occasion were Rexberry Events, which supplied the gigantic floral displays, Linens by Lisa, Best Entertainers, J and D Entertainment, AFR furniture rental, Capitol Beverage, and Let It Fly Events.
Among those offering congratulations were Annette and George Strake, Jessica Rossman, Dr. Roland Maldonado, Catarina Gonazales, Laurette Veres, Miya Shay, Kim Padgett, David Cordua, Sonia Soto, Kristen Cannon, Corbett Parker, Cortney Cole-Hall, Roswitha Vogler, Omar Marcos, Lily Paxson-Salinas, Larry Fagala, Jon Halbur and Dan O’Brien, Leah Green, Alice Garza, Rebecca Castillo, and Sharon Alexion.
