Buzzy New Pop-Up Shop at Forty Five Ten Celebrates 20 Years of Epic Difference Making: Maxing Out Your Credit Cards Never Felt So Right

Shopping for a good cause? Sign me up. I was ready to max out some credit cards and perhaps respond at the register with “Can you put this on two cards? My Plano library card and my Lowe’s Rewards one?”

Forty Five Ten held a party to launch the opening of a Pop-Up Shop celebrating the 20th anniversary of Dallas’ beloved TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art. The store within one of my favorite stores is carrying notable designer brands who have donated a range of signature pieces.

“Over our 20 years, we have been extraordinarily blessed with the support of so many designers, luxury brands and generous supporters. Along with our sponsor Forty Five Ten, we wanted to celebrate this special anniversary and provide a one-of-a-kind shopping experience commemorating our milestone,” said Cindy Rachofsky, TWO x TWO’s co-host and founder, along with her husband, Howard Rachofsky.

“This is such a great collaboration for Forty Five Ten because it’s one of like-mindedness — we both celebrate the space that connects fashion, art and design. To be a part of this special anniversary for an amazing cause has been our honor,” said Kristen Cole, Forty Five Ten’s president and chief creative officer.

Among the highlights is a series of limited-edition T-shirts designed by some of the fashion world’s leading names including Rosie Assoulin, Prabal Gurung, Adam Lippes, Jeremy Scott for Moschino, Carine Roitfeld and Emilia Wickstead.

Also available to fill-up my shopping basket was a selection of drool-worthy special edition handbags from my favorite crocodile hunter Nancy Gonzalez as well as a custom diamond necklace with your child’s name designed by Dallas’ favorite jeweler, Sue Gragg. For tipplers in the room (myself included) Casa Dragones provided a set of sipping tequila glassware and a margarita glass.

In conjunction, Dallas Museum of Art has published TWO x TWO x TWENTY: Two Decades Supporting Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art. The book celebrates significant contemporary art acquisitions and exhibitions made possible by proceeds from the epic fundraiser.

Since its inception 19 years ago, TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art has raised more than $75 million in support of amfAR’s essential AIDS research initiatives and the Dallas Museum of Art’s Contemporary Art Acquisitions Fund.  TWO x TWO has become amfAR’s largest fundraiser in the United States and is also the DMA’s largest fundraiser. Go buy some of that Casa Dragones barware and join me in raising a glass to honor this incredible event.

Shoppers and supporters included Jessica Nowitzki, Nasiba and Thomas Hartland-Mackie, Brian Bolke and Faisal Halum, Rob Dailey, Laura and Walter Elcock, Gonzalo Bueno and Michael McCray, Jeny Bania, Suzanne and David Droese, Cindy Ferris, Meghan Looney, Lisa and John Runyon.

The TWO x TWO Pop-Up will be open through Saturday, October 27 at the flagship Forty Five Ten location, 1615 Main Street, Dallas. All items are also available at https://amfar.myshopify.com
