What: Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation Young Professionals Group (YPG) “Tacky Sweater Party”
Where: Children’s Museum of Houston
PC Moment: Not only were the sweaters over the top with reindeer, Santas and snowflakes but for this, the fourth annual, Tacky Sweater night, the YPs donned equally zany socks in honor of the recently departed President George H.W. Bush, known in his later years for his colorful socks. At night’s end, winners of the tackiest sweater and craziest socks friendly competition were announced.
While socializing, the gang contributed hours of service as they packaged 9,600 books into home libraries. Funds for the books were raised through the Young Professionals Jungle Book Gala, which recently brought in close to $300,000.
The home libraries will be distributed to some 1,600 underserved preschool-aged children through Kids Meals Inc., Spring Branch ISD early childhood centers, Small Steps Nurturing Center and other centers that care for underserved children.
PC Seen: Julie Baker Finck, Rebecca Hoffman, Cameron Stubbs, Kristen Oesch Stubbs, Grace Gosnell, Clark Feidler, Kristen Bennett, Krystal Wishkoski, Helen Xu, Matt Warrener, Nikki Ellis, Carley Colton, Morgan Statzenberger, Vitoria Villarreal, Alexa Bode, and Michael Perkins.
