Hannah and Cal McNair Quietly Support Mission Of Yahweh’s Fight Against Homelessness On a Night That Turns Into a Happy Circus
This Houston Big Top Fantasy Does a World Of Good

With under the radar support from the Hannah and Cal McNair family, the Mission of Yahweh “Greatest Mission on Earth” gala crossed the finish line with record proceeds of more than $800,000 for the mission’s work with homeless women and their children.
Of course, true credit goes to gala chairs philanthropists Robin and Danny Klaes along with the effort of honorary chairs Leila Perrin, Beth Wolff and Cynthia Wolff. (More to come on the McNairs’ influence.)
Bringing the circus theme to life, Let It Fly transformed the Post Oak Hotel ballroom into a playful under the big top fantasy that included costumed stilt walkers, a magician, a snake charmer and loads of red and white strips.
The frolicsome duo of retired meteorologist Frank Billingsley and PBS personality Ernie Manouse emceed the evening that honored Monica Hartland (sister to identical twins Joanna Hartland and Hannah McNair), Samantha and David Kennedy, and Warner Roberts. All dedicated supporters of the mission.
The silent auction, appeal, raffle and live auction added handsomely to the bottom line with one of the most popular auction items being the opportunity to travel with the Houston Texans on their private jet to one of the team’s away games.
The McNair Family Connection
After introduction to the Mission of Yahweh by dedicated philanthropist and community leader Roberts, Monica Hartland and most of her siblings joined the nonprofit’s mandate of empowering, enriching and restoring the lives of women and children experiencing homelessness.

In 2009, Hartland created “Christmas on a Mission” which provides a snowy holiday party with much needed gifts and toys for the mission residents every year. Cal and Hannah McNair regularly participate, attend the various fundraisers, frequently offer the plane ride with the Texans prize and oversaw dedication of the Houston Texans Children’s Playground which was added to the campus in 2017.
