This week has not fallen short of anything other than exciting. Wednesday October 8, the Society for the Performing Arts hosts their 18th Annual Fall Luncheon at the Jones Hall Stage, chaired by Christie Sullivan with honorary chair Melissa Mithoff, featuring guest speaker Lauren Bush Lauren of FEED fame . . . Thursday, October 9, 2014 Peckerwood Garden Conservation Foundation hosts Taking Root Luncheon featuring landscape architect Thomas L. Woltz, the mastermind selected to re-invent Memorial Park. On October 10, 19 children and teens, all patients from Texas Children’s Cancer Center experience the thrill of the runway at the 7th Annual Celebration of Champions Luncheon at River Oaks Country Club. . . Friday evening, guests sip handcrafted cocktails, nibble Cuban-inspired hors d’oeuvres, and dance to live Cuban tunes under the moonlight at the Rothko Chapel Moonrise Party on the Plaza fall fundraiser.
