Hobnob with Hollywood’s Rising Stars at a Movie-Worthy River Oaks Manse

Steele Red Carpet Party Awaits

BY // 03.31.16

At the Steele Red Carpet Party, not only do Hollywood actors walk the red carpet, but they also meet and mingle with guests at Gene and Astrid Van Dyke’s luxurious River Oaks home, which appeared in the 1973 movie The Thief Who Came to Dinner starring Ryan O’Neal and Jacqueline Bisset. The three-acre outdoor setting will accommodate a cast like Major Dodson (Sam on The Walking Dead), Dalton Gray (Master Mike on American Horror Story), Erika Erica (Better Call Saul), Dave Maldonado (Deepwater Horizon), David Born (supporting actor in The Duel), Joshua Diaz (Queen of the South), Katy Harris (HBO’s The Leftovers), Giovanni Silva (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, out soon), Brandon Buttrey (Region 15 due out nationwide in June), Wayne DeHart (Bolden!), cast members of a new western TV series Big Sky and the cast and creator of Dreamsville — due out next year. Ayana Mack and stellar comedian Eddie Cruz are emcees.

Guests will enjoy dinner and libations by award winning chefs Pedro Garcia of El Meson, Food Network’s Nancy Manlove, Annette Amaya of Cru Wine Bar, Laura Trigo of Hotel Icon and Karbach Brewery, as well as a performance by American Idol‘s Zach Person, Hogan & Moss, Nashville country singer Genevieve Allen, along with Justin Myers (the latter, direct from SXSW), at the Van Dykes’ entertainment pavilion. It’s all for a great cause: Proceeds benefit the Military Warriors Support Foundation, which helps combat-wounded heroes transition from the military back to civilian life.
