Booker T. Flyinghorse 2018
In a celebration of arts and performance, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts is hosting its annual Flyinghorse showcase fundraiser next Friday, April 27. Flyinghorse demonstrates the talents and skills of the students who attend the renowned Dallas public school.
This year’s event specifically recognizes Art Magnet, a safe haven unique to Booker T. Washington, where students can create, collaborate, and learn from one another.
Booker T. is one of the top public school in the entire Dallas-Fort Worth area, demanding strong academic prowess while encouraging its students to find their passion in the arts, whether it be in sculpture, singing, dancing, or acting. Founded in 1976, the school’s advisory board acts as a private, nonprofit organization that seeks to broaden the community by building bridges between the school and professional arts opportunities around Dallas.
These students strive for excellence in all areas, and it’s time they get the recognition they deserve.
See students demonstrate their abilities with a variety of performances such as an arrangement of a Gershwin classic, an exclusive visual arts installation, music and dance spanning from Bollywood to West Texas, and a special musical theater finale.
