Nestled on a corner on Commerce Street with Aston Martins parked in the front, the newly renovated Statler Hotel has become a Dallas must-stay. However, this Friday April 13, the retro inn will be doing so much more than serving guests.

As the venue and backdrop for this year’s AWARE Affair, the Statler will unite party-goers and philanthropists under one roof to fundraise for a cause that hits home with millions.

Since 1989, the AWARE gala has raised more than $12.5 million for Alzheimer’s awareness, nonprofit organizations that work with patients and doctors working to cure the disease. With an agenda like this one, there’s no surprise it’s one of the most popular events on the Dallas social calendar every year.

The night begins with a cocktail reception intermixed with live and silent auctions. Enjoy a three-course meal inspired by the many menus at the fancy hotel created by its director of culinary events Justo Blanco. Round the night off with dancing to music from throughout the ages. And more drinks, of course.

WFAA Channel 8 News anchor Ron Corning is the special guest of the night and will act as emcee. Presentations don’t end with the auctions, as the organization will take time to honor a longtime and loyal patron of AWARE and victim to Alzheimer’s, Frances Chantilis, with her family. Join event chairs Jolie Humphrey and Josey Kennington as well as AWARE president Venise Stuart for a night with a special message in one of Dallas’ hottest and hippest new spots.
