What: Houston Hospice Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award dinner

Where: River Oaks Country Club

PC Moment: In memory of the late, beloved Laura Lee Blanton, Sally and Bob Thomas were honored for their generous spirits and community leadership. “We are honored to join the list of past recipients,” Bob Thomas said, “and so pleased to be able to support the important mission and dignity of Houston Hospice for people in our community.” The couple was introduced to the gathering by long-term friend Harriet Foster, who showed her comedic side with tales of how she and her husband, Joe Foster, became friends with the Thomases.

Melanie Lawson, KTRK Channel 13 news anchor, served as emcee of the evening that raised more than $260,000 for the city’s oldest and largest independent hospice.

Who: Dinner chair Lance Boudreaux, Houston Hospice president and CEO Jim Faucett, Cynthia Nordt, Trish and Allen Rodgers, Elliott Bossin, Sue White, Sandi and Stan Faison, Jesse and Stephanie Martin, Shadow Sloan, Bret Curran, Rich Walton, Bill Bombarder and Kay and Dr. Paul Mansfield.
