Houston’s Mayor and His Daughter Party with Sheila E., Help Raise $550,000 for UNCF

PC Moment: Mayor Sylvester Turner and his daughter, Ashley Turner, served as honorary chairs of the evening that drew a black-tie crowd of more than 500 which helped raise more than $550,000. Special guest UNCF president and CEO Michael L. Lomax, in from headquarters in Washington D.C., announced that last year the non-profit invested more than $700,000 in scholarships for Houston area students. That news added fuel to the celebration that went absolutely fiery when Sheila E. took the stage. Applause, applause for gala chairs K’Netha and Thomas Jones and Joycelyn and Terry Williams.
