One of Houston’s Top Burger Spots Teams Up With Major Restaurant Chefs for Special Do-Good Menus
By Jailyn Marcel //
The Burger Joint is adding a twist to its signature burgers, shakes and fries — all for the sake of charity. The Montrose eatery is teaming up with local chefs to bring you the Burger Joint Venture, a culinary installment that will take place on the final Tuesday of every month.
Participating chefs will launch a themed menu of two burgers, two sides and a milkshake. Patrons can select a burger, side and shake/beer for a set price, and a portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit a foundation of the guest chef’s choice.
The Burger Joint Venture kicks off on Tuesday, April 26, at 6 pm with chef Philippe Gaston of Izakaya. His special menu — the oowie goowie burger with rajas con queso; a Mexico-style torta Cubana; Japanese poutine with Wisconsin curds; smothered fries El Galan style; and a secret shake — will help fund Recipe for Success.
Upcoming chefs incude Mike Potowski and Maria Gonzalez of Benjy’s on Tuesday, May 31 (proceeds to benefit Hope Stone, Inc.), and Justin Turner of Bernie’s Burger Bus on Tuesday, June 28 (proceeds to benefit the Periwinkle Foundation).
