What: Houston Symphony Ball.
Where: Hilton Americas-Houston.
Who: Chairs Lisa and Jerry Simon and Sherry and Jim Smith; honorees Betty and Jesse Tutor, Cora Sue and Harry Mach, Nancy and Robert Peiser, and Julia and Andrés Orozco–Estrada; auction chairs Ileana and Michael Trevino; after-party chairs Jennifer & Steve Dolman; Symphony director Mark Hansen and wife Christina; bright young things Allie and Jay Fields, Valerie and Tracy Dieterich, John and Ting Bresnahan, Courtney and Bill Toomey, Chris Goins, and Christina Stith.
PC Moment: The hotly anticipated evening began on a high note as Billy Joel protege Michael Cavanaugh performed on the piano, lending a joyous supper club vibe to the seated dinner, which was accompanied by wine pairings from Spec’s Wines, Spirits and Finer Foods. For the evening’s headliner, hundreds of tony Houstonians in black-tie regalia rushed the stage and danced on the packed floor. Huey Lewis & the News delivered a high-energy, unforgettable performance. And the night didn’t stop there. Completing the musical trifecta was BPM by Bobby Young at the after-party. The unforgettable night raised more than $1.57 million for the Symphony’s education and community programming. Thankfully, the evening’s soundtrack is still playing in our minds.
