Launching his third annual JH-Town Weekend, Houston Rockets MVP and towering fashionista James Harden invited besties, including Houston Rockets newbie Russell Westbrook, and VIPs to a swell rendezvous at The Webster Houston on Thursday night. Proceeds from three days of partying/fundraising are headed for the 3 The Harden Way foundation, which aids economically disadvantaged but aspiring students.
Harden has long been a fan of the Miami-based, fashion-forward boutique, which adds to his fashionista creds. In 2018, he was voted the best dressed NBA All-Star. Google “James Harden and fashion” and the results are staggering with dish on everything from a chronology of his best ensembles to tips on where to buy his looks. The Webster, of course, would be included in that list. With labels such as Balenciaga, Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, Gucci and Chloe, the high-style enclave, aside The Galleria, is ideal for those lusting for a pro athlete or uber fashion maven vibe.
Just one thing about this party at The Webster. Harden didn’t show up until after end time of the 7 to 9 pm event. According to the Chronicle, the 6-foot-5 Rockets star rolled in at 9:30, reportedly thanks to “a haircut and run-in with rapper Travis Scott.” Thus, the party energy ratcheted up and kept the lights on until midnight with DJs Anthony Gardiner and Omar Espinosa working the turntables.
Filling in during the early hours of the soirée was Harden’s mom and agent, Monja Willis, who co-hosted the party.
The JH-Town Weekend included a comedy show Friday night and a celebrity softball game Saturday night.
