I don’t know about you, but I love a reunion. It’s the perfect occasion to see folks that you might not run into on a regular basis. For a few weeks every year, I get that with Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas.
The storm clouds let up on a recent evening for a night of clinking glasses at the KD Biel outpost in the Design District (KD Biel’s founder Kurl Bielawski just debuted another store in the Knox neighborhood) for alumni as well as the roster of this year’s interior designers selected to work on the Dallas home.
Since its Dallas debut in 2020, Kips Bay has become a fixture as one of our premier design events — an extension of the legendary New York showcase that has been an inspiration for decades. Proceeds from the Dallas Show House support the vital work of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which serves over 14,000 young people across the Bronx.

In addition, the Dallas edition proudly benefits Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit committed to creating inspiring and nurturing homes for families facing homelessness and poverty, as well as The Crystal Charity Ball, a cornerstone Dallas institution dedicated to supporting children’s charities throughout Dallas County. The Show House brings together top interior designers and architects to transform a luxury residence, offering visitors a rare glimpse inside the spectacularly reimagined spaces.
Everyone is gearing up for this year’s run, returning to 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard (next door to the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek). While the Show House will once again take place at the same location as last year, visitors can expect an entirely new experience, with a fresh group of designers and a completely reimagined space.
Dates for the annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas are: Opening day VIP Preview Friday, November 13; public opening day Saturday, November 14 (through December 6).

Show House chairmen are Shelby Wagner, Jean Liu, Chad Dorsey, and vice chair Trish Sheats. For the third year, Vipin Nambiar and HN Capital Partners have stepped up to provide the location: the 25,000-square-foot French Renaissance-style estate located at 2999 Turtle Creek. A new layout for the Show House will utilize more of the property and new spaces. One of the most exciting aspects of the show house is the Kips Bay President’s Dinner Dallas, Thursday, November 12, drawing top designers and design-industry nobility; the night includes a cocktail preview of the show house followed by dinner at Brook Hollow Golf Club.
Everyone was buzzing at KD Biel that recent evening. Lots of shared stories of past fun (and a few giggle-worthy challenges) designing rooms at the Dallas Show House.
Spotted that evening included Kips Bay director of special events and corporate partnerships Nazira Handel, local interior designers Sara See and Chad Dorsey (with his dog, Russell, in tow) — both Kips Bay Show House alums; and of course, Kurt Bielawski.
