Mount Everest High: Female Mountain Climber Has a Dallas Moment, Shows Plenty of Heart

PC Moment: “She has survived subzero temperatures, hurricane-force winds, and sudden avalanches,” shared Dallas native and Mount Everest 1996 disaster survivor, Beck Weathers as he introduced longtime friend, fellow climber, and luncheon keynote speaker Alison Levine. “Levine has climbed the highest peak on every continent, served as the team captain of the first American women’s Everest expedition, and skied across the Arctic Circle to the geographic North Pole.”

The trailblazer spoke to more than 600 women at the luncheon benefitting the American Heart Association. Levine shared stories of how her strength has been tested throughout her courageous journeys as well as the challenges she has encountered on her road to various triumphs, including getting to the top of Everest.
