River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s Season Opener Brings Out Powerhouse Music Backers

What: River Oaks Chamber Orchestra‘s “ROCO ROCCS” season opening gala
Where: River Oaks Country Club
PC Moment: Following the orchestra’s opening concert, “Time for Hope,” more than 260 guests moseyed to the country club ballroom where members of the orchestra were seated at each table, making for musically-inspired dinner conversation. It was an especially celebratory evening as this marked the launch of the 15th season and proved to be a grand success both in terms of attendance and funds raised.
Key players in the evening were chair Nanci Cain, honorees Kathy and Ed Segner and artist Libbie Masterson, the inaugural recipient of the ROCO Wildcatting in the Arts Award in honor of “her maverick spirit, embodying the trailblazing nature of ROCO.” ROCO founder Alecia Lawyer, managing director Amy Gibbs and conductor Mei-An Chenn led the celebration.
