What: Harris County Hospital District‘s “Jubilee of Caring”
Where: River Oaks Country Club
PC Moment: There were numerous highlights to the lively dinner but the most interesting aspect might have been the sister act — Carroll Ray, Beth Robertson and Lillie Robertson, who served as such talented emcees that some suggested the trio take their show on the road. (For the night, the ladies dubbed themselves the Tres Hermanas.) It was truly all in the family as the evening honored their brother and sister-in-law, Corby and Barbara Robertson, recipients of the Ben Taub Humanitarian Award. They were recognized for their compassionate dedication to improving the health and well being of the Houston community.
Highlight of the actual fundraising was the appeal in which guests had a chance to receive a stethoscope. That resulted in extra dollars raised and a jolly wave of would-be docs listening to their table mates’ heartbeats. The evening raised $650,000 which will aid in the renovation of the first floor of the Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital Ginni and Richard Mithoff Level 1 Trauma Center.
Who: Harris County Judge Ed Emmett who presented the honors, Harris County Hospital District Foundation board chair Kitch Taub, Ginni and Richard Mithoff, Michael Mithoff, Flo McGee, Dr. Paul Klotman, Nancy and Jim Gordon, Marcy Taub Wessel and Tom Wessel, Cathy and Joe Cleary, Emily Crosswell, Karen and Howard Tellepsen, Anne Clutterbuck, Danielle and Meredith Cullen, Beth Young, Barbara and George Masi, Melissa Juneau, and Swan and Theo Franklin.
