This Spirited Party Brings the True Southwest Home
And Who Doesn’t Love a Mariachi Band?
By Lisa Collins Shaddock //
What: Spirit of Taos benefiting Wilkinson Center
Where: The Lot
PC Moment: An excuse to break out the Pendleton is just one on a very long list of reasons to attend Friends of Wilkinson Center’s annual Spirit of Taos fiesta.
Other highly motivating factors – in no particular order: a mariachi welcome; a seated, Southwestern casual dinner of tacos, brisket sliders, and yucca fries with Emporium Pies served up for dessert; raffle prizes; late-night dancing to the sounds of Downtown Fever band; and supporting Wilkinson Center and its mission to provide services to families struggling to escape poverty.
With all of that and more, the fourth year of this annual event did not disappoint. Come fall, you’ll know where to find us. Headed West!
