When Leigh Steinberg‘s annual Super Bowl bash hits your city, attendance is mandatory. The famed sports agent, who was the inspiration behind the hit film Jerry Maguire, hosted his 30th Super Bowl féte at Hughes Manor on Saturday, outfitting the massive space with unlimited food, drinks, and celebrity sightings.
Partygoers basked in the sprawling outdoor venue, hopping from tent to tent as caterers filled the space with a bevy of cuisines featuring everything from miniature cheese burgers and barbecue to Tex-Mex staples and petite desserts. Grey Goose kept the drinks flowing with endless bottles of its vodka.
Raging pop tunes engulfed the extravagant bash before the man of the hour, Leigh Steinberg, took the stage for the Steinberg DeNicola Humanitarian Awards where former Houston Oilers star Warren Moon was awarded the 2017 Humanitarian award.
But the real star of the hour was another Houston Oilers legend, Earl Campbell. Campbell picked up the BBVA Compass Live Bright Award, which honored the former NFL heavyweight for his work with the MS Society. Chef, author, and BBVA ambassador Sandra Lee presented Campbell with the crystal award alongside a festive, three-tiered, blue-ombre cake.
Artist Calleo also created a commemorative art piece, which he presented to Campbell in partnership with UTEP running back and NFL Draft prospect Aaron Jones at the ceremony’s close.
The Seen: Former Tennessee Titans, all-pro running back Eddie George, model Nicole Murphy, University of Texas legend Vince Young, recording artist and talk show host Adrienne Bailon Houghton, recording artist Israel Houghton, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, newly retired NFL wide receiver Steve Smith, Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Steven Johnson, NFL player James Anderson, singer/songwriter Ryan Cabrera and international model Carissa Rosario.
