Former Texan’s Hot Bedtime Stories Bring Out Houston’s Beautiful Women, Sexy Men and Jocks Galore

What: The Wade Smith Foundation second annual “Bedtime Stories: A Night Under the Sea”

PC Moment: What could get more glamorous than beautiful women and sexy men, all of local notoriety, parading across a covered swimming pool in the chicest of fashions from Abe Ndoye Designs and selections from Baanou? That would be the magic that held together this evening of cocktails, couture and charity. The $100,000 in proceeds will benefit the foundation’s Reading With Pros program and Smitty’s Scholars scholarship fund.

Quite the posh night, celebrity guests arrived in Bentleys, Bugattis and Rolls Royces, courtesy of Post Oak Motor Cars. What a showcase for luxury retailers — de Boulle Diamond & Jewelry, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, hair and makeup provided by Ceron Hair Studio and NARS River Oaks Boutique — all of which contributed to the glam factor. Mastro’s delivered on the party foods while Bacardi, Miner Family Winery, Grey Goose and Tequila Cazadores provided the spirits. Former Houston Texan Travis Johnson hosted the luxe cigar lounge organized by Davidoff of Geneva.

The night honored Mary Nell Jones, Youth Development Center executive director, and included a tribute to the late Barbara Bush. Conducting the program were KHOU Channel 11’s Chita Craft and Mia Gradney along with Sports Radio 610’s Seth Payne, a former Texan himself.
