Luxury Handbag Mecca’s New CityCentre Store is a Love Letter to Houston
Brahmin Embraces the Houston Woman, Offers Exclusive Perks

Houstonians really love their Brahmin bags. Fortunately, the feeling is mutual. The Massachusetts-based company chose CityCentre to open its latest luxury handbag boutique, loaded with exclusive items created specifically for its Houston shoppers.
Commonly found at Dillard’s and Nordstrom, the time was right for Brahmin to open a stand alone Houston store. Between department store sales and online purchases, it became obvious to the Brahmin team that Houston women could keep the brick-and-mortar shop humming along.
“Houston is a great city for us. The product really resonates with Houstonians, and CityCentre is the right location for us,” Brahmin’s Mike Ohanian says.
The 1,000 square foot boutique features the line’s signature croc-embossed bags in a rainbow of colors, but there’s one hue that Houston shoppers crave more than any other.
“We have strong sales in red. Houston shoppers are really loving red,” Ohanian says. “And snakeprint is always popular.” Brahmin is giving the people what they want upon entry, with tables laden with cherry red totes, shoulder bags, clutches and satchels.
In a nod to the climate and taste of the Houston shopper, Brahmin stepped outside of its usual materials and introduced the Lava Rogers cork collection. Ohanian says it’s fun and different direction for Brahmin.
Brahmin is also banking on locals’ love of bright colors and snake print, unveiling the Lava Simmons collection, that is only available in Houston or online. The bags blend bright red and turquoise blue with smooth black leather trim.
“We are really proud of our product. It’s made with quality and integrity that Brahmin is known for,” Ohanian notes.
