Cheeky Artist and Beauty Maven Give This Auction Kickoff True Cult Entrepreneur Power
By Max Trowbridge //
Forty Five Ten combines art and beauty to celebrate the Art for Advocacy annual auction kickoff Thursday, September 24, from 2 to 4 pm. Cheeky artist Donald Robertson (aka @drawbertson, who was nominated for CFDA’s Instagrammer of the Year honors) will be on hand to sign his new children’s book, Mitford at the Fashion Zoo ($17.99); illustrations from its pages decorate a tote, wallet and travel case, to be sold exclusively at Forty Five Ten (Colette in Paris is the only other boutique on the planet to carry the collection). For Forty Five Ten’s fall Chic Dallas Ladies campaign, Robertson’s illustrations of Dallas’ most stylish will emblazon shopping totes and be exhibited in the T Room later this month — totes amaze! Also at the boutique that afternoon will be beauty maven Linda Rodin, who debuted her Rodin Olio Lusso face oil in 2007 to much fanfare. Of the two cult-status entrepreneurs, Forty Five Ten co-owner Brian Bolke says, “I think they are kindred spirits that have found each other. On my many meetings with Donald over the last year, I simply fell in love with him. I’m sure Linda did too, and certainly vice-versa.” Forty Five Ten, 4510 McKinney Ave., 214.559.4510.
