Fendi’s Exotic Peekaboo Bags to be Available for Limited Time at Houston Galleria Store
This Exclusive Engagement Won't Last

Could Fendi’s collection of Peekaboo bags in exotic skins be the most coveted of the Italian house’s many handbag offerings? Houstonians will find out October 4 through 14, when the Galleria store will present a special collection of exotics. Think crocodile, python, and ostrich in vivid colorings.
Even from photos, we are lusting after the burgundy crocodile and the brown ostrich, both perfect for the season. And then there is the Peekaboo iconic mini in turquoise and the Peekaboo Iconic Essentially bag in pink, both beautifully handcrafted from ostrich leather. Friends who saw the exotics collection in London are still swooning over the magnificent bags, noted for their exquisite craftsmanship.
It is worth noting that preserving craftsmanship has long been a part of Fendi’s legacy — and the fashion house’s commitment to artisanal work is utterly apparent at Bagno a Ripoli, the brand’s exclusive production site and leather school outside Florence. Here, old school meets new: Fendi’s skilled artisans craft bags and leather goods alongside the next generation of craftsmen, a highly skilled group of students who have been selected to train there. The proximity of seasoned artisans and those in training is intentional and in line with Fendi’s efforts to ensure that the generations-old craft is passed down from one generation to the next.
From this Fendi stronghold comes the coveted Peekaboo, designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, creative director. The witty bag, with its open-and-unlocked look, is a testament to the skilled leatherworkers of Bagno a Ripoli — especially when one considers the made-to-order styles in exotic skins.
