We’re practically still reeling from the smash success of last year’s Night of Stars Gala, when Zac Posen blew into town to accept his Career Achievement in Fashion Award and simultaneously blew us away with his grace, humility and charm. (And lest we forget the distinguished honors that went to the impeccable actress Linda Gray, event designer Todd Fiscus, art patron Nancy C. Rogers and businesswoman Lisa Dawson.)
Now we’re reveling in the news that Fashion Group International of Dallas is set to bestow the honor upon accomplished designer Prabal Gurung this November. Gurung, a Parsons The New School for Design grad whose namesake label is available in more than 20 countries and regularly graces the pages of illustrious publications, has a resume packed with achivements: Parsons/Fashion Institute of Technology’s Best Designer Award; the 2010 Ecco Domani Fund Award; 2011 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear; and a 2013 collection for Target, among others, and he counts First Lady Michelle Obama, The Duchess of Cambridge, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lawrence among the high-profile women who covet his modern, glamorous pieces. While we know the guest of honor will be in attendance this November, we also wonder, what other famous faces will be recognized? Stay tuned for that announcement Thursday, August 6!
