Credit cards at the ready, an eager clutch of more than 250 guests prowled the enticing aisles of Kuhl-Linscomb to get first dibs on the 20 percent discount offered when using the American Heart Association‘s Shop With Heart Card. It was the launch of the 10-day shopping fête, presented by the Heart Guild of Houston, which runs through May 5.
All sales of the $50 cards, which can be purchased at any of the more than 300 participating retailers, go directly to the AHA and its programs fighting heart disease and stroke.
And who can resist that 20 percent discount on to-die-for jewels from Tenenbaum and Zadok, or the fashions finds at Tootsies and Trina Turk? Add French Cuff, Reading Glasses to Go, St. John, Kendra Scott, Lucho, J. McLaughlin Town & Country, and Lighting Inc. to the myriad retailers that are participating.
The Shop With Heart Card launch was a par-tee with a fashionable group gaining after-hours access to the popular Kuhl-Linscomb, which offers every type of design and lifestyle merchandise under the sun. While perusing the fab selections of bedding, stationery, tabletop, lighting and skincare offerings (plus so much more), shoppers sipped on libations from Decant Urban Winery, Yellow Rose Distilling and Eureka Heights Brewing and savored light bites from Bollo Woodfired Pizza, Ouisie’s Table and Ooh La La Sweets.
A DJ spun the hits, while guests waited to hear who won door prizes that included a $200 gift certificate to the host store, a Coravin Wine System and a Drunk Elephant skin care kit, all contributed by Shop With Heart Card participating retailers.
Shopping til dropping: Leila Gilbert, Pam Kuhl-Linscomb and Dan Linscomb, Vicki West and Ralph Burch, Susan and Dick Hansen, Ilene Allen, Robyn Barnes, Jessica Wiley, Beth Wolff, Annie Daugherty, Martha and Jack Plunket, Melissa McAnelly, Rachel and Tim Dash, and Vanessa and Michael O’Donnell.
