Embracing Your Inner Warrior Never Felt So Good

Last year, Hermès debuted its exquisite Parures de Samouraïs silk twill scarf, a collaboration with Dallas art collectors Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, whose eponymous Dallas museum nestled in the Harwood District houses nearly 1,000 samurai ensemble pieces.
The Samurai Collection, one of the largest and most complete collections of Samurai objects in the world outside of Japan
The scarf and its various colorways were a beautifully intricate testament to samurai warrior adornments prevalent between the 14th and 18th centuries.
Now, the French luxury goods label is reintroducing the scarf as a slightly bigger shawl. Also designed by Aline Honoré, the reinvented silk and cashmere shawl (140×140 centimeters opposed to the scarf’s 90×90 centimeters) is $1,100 and available in seven colorations.
It showcases floral motifs, clan coats of arms, and a suit of armor in bronze, iron, gold, leather, silk, and lacquer. Perfect for these remaining chilly days of the season — or simply as a fabulous addition to an accessories collection — the shawl is available in the Dallas Hermès boutique and online.
