Cushnie Et Tochs, Peter Cohen, Norisol Ferrari and Angel Sanchez — this may sound like the roster from New York Fashion Week, but these were actually collections that graced the runway at the first annual Heart of Fashion event this past fall. The brainchild of Vivian Wise, Heart of Fashion made its debut in November 2015 as a three-night runway event that helped raise awareness and funds for local charities including Legacy Community Health Services, Meals on Wheels and Butterflys and Bandages. Now the fashion-forward event is back for year two, with a few ritzy surprises.
In true Vivian Wise fashion, a reveal party took place on Monday, February 15 at River Oak District’s iPic Theatre, where some of the city’s most fashionable gathered for a private screening of Zoolander 2 (accompanied by appetizers and cocktails courtesy The Tuck Room), and more importantly, for an exclusive announcement detailing the upcoming Heart of Fashion season.
So what’s in store for HOF 2016? Cross-country expansion!
Heart of Fashion will start the year in Houston with The Mystery Show on Friday, May 6. The soirée, produced by Todd Events, features a secret location (which guests will discover after purchasing a ticket, and only 250 will be sold). The HOF tour continues with a grand presentation in Aspen on Friday, July 29, followed by an over-the-top evening in the Montecito-area of California, which will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara.
The second annual Heart of Fashion runway event serves as the 2016 finale and will take place at Million Air Houston on Wednesday, November 16, through Friday, November 18. The 99,000 square-foot airplane hangar will undergo a complete transformation for the second year in row.
