Renowned Style Expert Unveils a New Fall Collection Full of Lush Wows
This Fashion Forecast Calls for Plenty of Fallingwater

What: Lafayette 148 Fall 2018 Fashion Presentation
Where: Neiman Marcus NorthPark
PC Moment: While its Spring 2018 collection was all about art, womenswear label Lafayette 148’s latest collection has a little more structure. Creative director Emily Smith looked to great architecture – particularly Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece Fallingwater – for inspiration this season.
The modern architectural icon lent its warm, autumnal tones, streamlined shapes, and exquisite details to the clothing. A forest green velvet dress calls to mind the lush foliage surrounding the home, while a mustard-colored leather jacket mimics the yellow details of the home’s interior. Knee-high suede boots and sleek loafers add to the ‘60s vibe.
The stand-out piece, though, was a sleek calf hair coat in a rich leopard print, falling just below the knee, with a black suede collar and belt.
Style expert and trend forecaster Brooke Jaffe helped present the new collection to Dallas shoppers last week at Neiman Marcus NorthPark. Jaffe served as the Women’s Fashion Director of Bloomingdale’s for a decade, and regularly appears on shows like The Today Show and Good Day New York as an official authority on all things fashion. She hosted the Lafayette 148 fashion presentation, donning a patterned maxi dress and rust-red leather jacket.
Fashionistas in the crowd included Tina Craig of Bag Snob, Merritt Beck, Heather Anderson, Cathy Williamson, Samantha Stewart, Tiffany Davros, Stia and Katherine of Bishop and Holland, and Mary Hafner.
