Ultra Rare, Classic Party Dresses (Some Dating Back to ’40s) Unveiled at Forty Five Ten
By Justine Pons //
For a very limited time, Forty Five Ten is treating Dallas to a specially chic experience. Today through Saturday, April 8, the Main Street store showcases nine exclusive haute couture pieces from Dutch fashion house Viktor & Rolf’s Spring 2017 Collection.
Dubbed “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” the ambitious and eccentric collection represents fragments of lives lived — it’s comprised of old and damaged party dresses spanning decades, as far back as the 1940s.
The collection was also spontaneous, according to designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, so it took significantly longer to produce. Combining reassembled materials with layers of various substances (such as exquisite dégradé tulle), the sophisticated pieces represent the intricacy and craftsmanship synonymous with haute couture.
Viktor & Rolf’s Spring 2017 haute couture is available at Forty Five Ten for purchase immediately.
Forty Five Ten on Main, 1615 Main St., 214.559.4510.
