What: Reception and book signing for Amanda Lindroth’s Island Hopping
Where: The Quadrille showroom
PC Moment: No matter the time of year, Amanda Lindroth’s presence makes one feel instantly transported to a locale replete with warm breezes, tropical cocktails, and very chic interiors. Of course, the abundance of seagrass and sunny prints within the Quadrille showroom in the Dallas Design Center has a similar effect — making it the perfect setting in which to fête the celebrated interior designer on the release of her first book Island Hopping (Vendome Press, $60).
The title couldn’t be more apt in painting a picture of the 25 immaculate yet deliciously relaxed homes it showcases, which are strewn about among Lyford Cay, Antigua, Abaco, Belize, Harbour Island, Palm Beach, Southampton, and Maine’s Great Cranberry island.
In addition to their enthusiasm for Lindroth’s work, the designer’s large Dallas following — including chic hosts Tricia Besing, Allison Benners, and Ami Cooper — shares a number of things in common: an elevated eye, a cultivated appreciation for the luxuriously slow paced lifestyle, and, in many cases, keys to a number of impeccably designed island homes.
All of this made for great conversation as Lindroth mingled and thoughtfully inscribed copies of her new tome. Naturally, generously poured bubbly and tangy pineapple chicken skewers, and a colorful array of Quadrille fabric swatches proved to be perfect accompaniments.
