Back-of-House Bespoke at The Container Store

BY Rebecca Sherman // 04.11.15

Elfa closet lovers, The Container Store has heard your cries for more luxury. The Container Store purchased Elfa 30 years ago, and it’s been their mainstay closet organizer ever since. With the recent launch of TCS Closets, the Dallas-based organization store enters the custom closet market. “Our customers love Elfa for many areas of their home, but they haven’t always loved it for their master bedrooms,” says Erin Hogue, senior buyer. Offering a built-in feel and bespoke configurations and options, the made-to-order closets come with details such as LED lighting, dovetail joinery, soft-closing drawers, locking jewelry drawers, islands with customizable tops, glass doors and stylish hardware. While the industry standard for custom closets is 3/4 inch-thick shelving, says Hogue, TCS Closets’ are one-inch thick. “Our organizers come to your home, work with you on what you need and design your space,” Hogue explains. Tweak and approve your design from a computerized virtual layout, and once it’s finished —turnaround time is two to three weeks — “Our installation team takes it from there,” she says. Price upon request, at The Container Store, containerstore.com.
