Celebrity Friendly Friendswood Mansion That Super Lawyer Tony Buzbee Designed Hits the Market Again — Millionaire Cellulite Warrior Decides to Sell
Inside 405 W. Spreading Oaks Avenue, a Dream Home With Plenty of History
BY Shelby Hodge // 07.23.22The grand estate in Friendswood, built for powerhouse attorney Tony Buzbee, is about to change hands once again. It is listed with Nan and Company Properties Christie's International Real Estate.
A sweeping 12,954 square foot mansion spreading across close to 10 lush acres in Friendswood has enjoyed its share of notoriety, first as the self-designed home of firebrand attorney Tony Buzbee and then home to multi-millionaire cellulite warrior Ashley Black.
The property hit the market earlier this week with a burning question. Who will be the next celebrity to helm the storied mansion?
Black boasts 1.1 million Instagram followers as inventor of the FasciaBlaster (which is seen in a trailer for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, when Khloe is pictured blasting the back of Kourtney’s thighs). After only a few years, Black is parting ways with the estate at 405 W. Spreading Oaks Avenue, located 23 miles south of Houston.
Surprisingly, the list price of $4.95 million is considerably less than the $6.89 million that Buzbee required in his bid to sell the property in 2019. But then again, it’s more in keeping with the $4.75 million that Buzbee asked in 2013, when the successful trial lawyer moved his then-family to a similarly sized mansion on River Oaks Boulevard, albeit rising on a mere acre.
If glamour and celebrity is a theme that runs through this story, it would seem fitting that Black would tap the sensational Nancy Almodovar, CEO of Nan and Company Properties Christie’s International Real Estate, to handle the listing.
“This is how life is supposed to be lived,” Almodovar says in a statement. “This is truly a private escape with all the amenities of a luxury resort. The grounds are a playground for your imagination with endless possibilities from adding horse stables to building your own helipad.
“You can have it all within minutes of Hobby airport’s private terminals and downtown Houston.”
We would expect nothing less from a Tony Buzbee endeavor.
As might be expected, the house is grand with vaulted ceilings and custom wood beams, six bedrooms with baths, vast open living spaces, a resort style pool, a lighted tennis court, a wine cellar, a private sauna and steam room, and the requisite summer kitchen.
Then come the Buzbee touches that truly set this property apart — a handsome ventilated cigar room; a private wing with a keypad lock and bulletproof door; and a trio of garages, including a luxe showroom, that can accommodate a dozen autos; and a spa large enough to host 24 partying occupants.
